Pre-Prep Teaching Assistant (part-time)
Hours: Part-time (2 days a week - term time only)
Status: Permanent position
Start Date: Spring Term
An exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant to join a supportive, caring and professional team. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest and knowledge of working in EYFS/KS1 with a strong commitment to high professional standards. Excellent organisation and communication skills are central to this role, as is the ability to take initiative, think creatively and build a strong rapport with pupils, colleagues and parents.
A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities will be advantageous.
Entry into the school is non selective at 4+ and our Reception pupils settle extremely well in our nurturing, happy environment where they feel safe, secure, ready to learn and achieve their potential.
Our Pre-Prep is housed in a spacious, light-filled purpose-built building and is home to our youngest pupils, aged 4 – 7. The curriculum is based on EYFS and the National Curriculum, and from Reception there is specialist teaching of Music, Computing, French, PE and Games, Library and thinking skills ensuring a balanced educational experience.
Each classroom is enhanced by its own dedicated outdoor space. The children enjoy the Pre-Prep nature trail and benefit from a large and well equipped playground for playtime.
Our classes are of mixed ability and teachers are ably supported by experienced teaching assistants. Our staff work collaboratively to share their knowledge and skills in developing lesson plans and best practice. The Pre-Prep team are supportive and caring, ensuring that the children have the best possible start to their education.
We work closely with the Prep Department to ensure that policy and practice is consistent across the school and builds on each child’s individual progress.
