Pre-Prep Video

An introductory film about our Pre-Prep Department hosted by Mrs Barnes, Head of Pre-Prep

Pre-Prep Department

We are very proud of Twickenham Pre Prep School, Hampton. There is a wonderful, friendly and purposeful atmosphere that pervades our modern, purpose-built learning environment. There are six classrooms and a well-stocked library in a light, airy and spacious building. This was referred to in our last inspection report in glowing terms.

“The accommodation in the Pre-Prep building is excellent in almost every respect. The rooms themselves are complimented by an imaginative use of outside areas to create a special learning resource loved by children and teachers alike.”

There are six classes in the Pre-Prep department – two Reception, two Year 1, two Year 2.

We aim for classes of no more than 20. There is a teaching assistant for each of the Reception classes. Year 1 and Year 2 have a teaching assistant each who is shared between the two classes.

Staff at Twickenham Pre Prep School in Hampton are well-qualified, highly motivated and committed to providing a holistic education to all pupils where academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual learning are promoted within the curriculum.

We value and nurture each child and promote positive learning experiences in a safe and happy environment.

We encourage children to develop their self-confidence and respect others in an atmosphere where positive discipline is practised by all.

The Pre-Prep is renowned for its safe and caring environment and we feel this is important in enabling children to feel happy, secure and enthusiastic to learn.

Reception classes (the EYFS) follow the Early Learning Goals. Children achieve these at their own pace through a series of stepping stones. Year 1 and Year 2 follow the National Curriculum subjects.

All classes receive specialist lessons in the subject areas of Computing, PE, Music, French, Think Tank and Library on a weekly basis.

We value communication with parents/carers as we feel a positive link between home and school is essential to a child’s academic and social development.
