After their commitments to senior school exams, our Year 6 children have embraced some wonderful opportunities since and last week featured a significant highlight: our Enterprise Fair. Through a series of STRIDE workshops aimed to help the children develop business and marketing plans, groups presented to a panel of judges on Wednesday and then set up their stalls on the front lawn, looking to maximise those profits!
I know that our esteemed judges, Mrs Sowah, Mrs Jones and Mrs McCarey, were very impressed with the professionalism and teamwork on show during the pitches, and creativity, energy and business acumen were very much in evidence during the fair. I left with a healthy smoothy, an illustrated rugby bookmark and won a fidget toy! I gather the final totals saw profits of £800.68 from sales, after initial expenditure of £211.70, which would certainly impress Sir Alan Sugar.
Thank you to our judges, the Year 6 form teachers and, of course, to Mr Hoo for overseeing this exciting project.
