ISI Inspection Report

We are delighted to share the news that following the recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, Twickenham Prep School is fully compliant and has achieved the highest grade of ‘Excellent’ in both EQI areas: Pupils’ Achievements and Pupils’ Personal Development.

Oliver Barrett, Headmaster commented: “These fantastic outcomes are the result of the extraordinary efforts of the leadership and our very supportive Governors, building on the work of my predecessor, David Malam, who has also been key to the success of the School. I would like to thank our very supportive parents and, of course, our truly dedicated academic and support staff who play a vital role in creating a community where the children thrive and love coming to school each and every day.” This affirmation of the educational offering at TPS is a welcome reflection of the School that we recognise from day-to-day, whilst also highlighting particular aspects of the outcomes for the children that set us apart. Inspectors commented on the excellent communication skills of the children and the strong contribution made by the collaborative learning opportunities here, along with the extremely high levels of perseverance and commitment the children show in lessons.

In addition, the commentary highlighted the initiative and independence of the children and their enthusiasm to take on leadership roles within their learning, whilst also pointing out high levels of independent study skills and intellectual curiosity.

The report pleasingly highlights the excellent progress made by pupils of all abilities in their time at TPS, with the children thriving on the culture of aspirational challenge and achieving highly in both academic and non-academic aspects of school life. It also points out the many extra-curricular activities on offer for the children to enjoy.
