There’s been a buzz around the school this week with Mrs McCarey’s ‘Book Week’, a riot of celebration of all things literature-related.
Through the week the class competition has seen the Hall decorated with lanterns, each one representing a different book, with Michael Morpurgo’s ‘War Horse’, Eric Carle’s ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and Katherine Rundell’s ‘The Explorers’ amongst the creations.
We’ve had author visits, including Elys Dolan, who showed off her amazing artistic skills when exploring her stories, such as ‘Mr Bunny’s Chocolate Factory’, and author Elen Caldecott ran inspiring writing workshops for Year 5. It was great to coincide Elen’s visit with our ‘Dress-up Day’ and to see so many children and staff fully embrace the experience!
