Last year a number of TPS events took place without an audience present, leading to the rather creative use of our broadcast cameras and the editing suite housed in the Hub. The senior pupils learnt a great deal in using the technology and this week has seen a very exciting new development, with the installation of our new TPS radio station in the Digital Media Suite at the Hub!
This amazing new facility will see a host of learning opportunities for the children, as they will be involved in writing, presenting and broadcasting content in the years ahead. The staff at TPS are immensely grateful to the Limbachia family for making this project possible in honour of Dr Sarju Patel, Niyam and Aanya’s uncle and former TPS pupil from 1985-1994. Dr Patel studied at Edinburgh before undertaking research into Multiple Sclerosis and then, later, teaching science. Given his distinguished career and his passion for science formed in his time at TPS, we have decided to dedicate the Science Laboratory to Dr Patel – a fitting tribute. Please look out for photos of the new radio station facility and we hope to share the first broadcasts with you soon!
