Following the recent announcement by the Prime Minister, TPS will be closed to pupils and visitors through to half term, subject to review. This is due to the National Lockdown designed to slow the transmission of COVID-19 considering the very high numbers of confirmed cases and the fact that the National Health Service is under great strain.
It follows that schools have an obligation to act in a manner to put the safety of the children and staff first, though we appreciate that this will have a significant impact on TPS families and the children. Please be reassured that we will be working very hard to ensure that the remote learning offering to all year groups is as comprehensive as possible from the start of the term.
Remote Learning will start on Wednesday 6th January for all year groups, and the school will be open to welcome the children of ‘critical workers.’ Term will start with a Whole School Assembly via Zoom at 8.45 a.m. Details relating to the curriculum and timetable, along with information about the remote learning platforms will be sent to parents. As the children will require physical resources including exercise books, text books and reading books, we anticipate opening the school on Saturday morning for parents to visit and collect packs for their children. We will provide information on the timings for this exercise.
In the meantime, may we express our thanks to you for your ongoing support and patience at this time as we adjust to the change of circumstances. We are confident that we will be just as successful during this Lockdown as we were last year.
