The Governing Body of Twickenham Prep School are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jason Ford as the new Headmaster of TPS, who will take up the position in January 2027. Mr Ford will succeed Mr Barrett who is moving on to a new opportunity at the end of the Autumn Term 2026.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Barrett again for his dedicated service and significant contribution to TPS. We are extremely grateful for all that he has done for our pupils, staff and wider community.
The appointment follows a thorough and rigorous recruitment process. We were fortunate to attract a strong field of candidates across a range of educational backgrounds. Throughout the process, Mr Ford distinguished himself through his educational vision, leadership experience, commitment to pupil wellbeing and clear understanding of the values and aspirations of our School.
Mr Ford is currently Deputy Head of Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep School, where he has led the development of the academic side of school life over the last seven and a half years, including significant curriculum changes, alongside a strong emphasis on personal values and the learning skills required for the future. Prior to this, he has worked in senior roles across a range of settings, including both 11+ and 13+ schools, as well as co-educational environments. Mr Ford’s responsibilities at Hampton Prep include working with families and local senior schools, liaising with them regarding the transition of pupils, this specific knowledge and experience means that he will be very well placed to guide TPS parents through the 11+ and 13+ process.
In addition to his professional role, Mr Ford volunteers as a school governor, with responsibility for safeguarding and curriculum, and is a qualified ISI school inspector. He holds an MA in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham and brings vast and relevant experience from a range of educational settings.
As a husband and father of two children, Mr Ford is active in the local community, including through local sports clubs where his children play. As an English teacher, he enjoys writing in his own time and regularly has work published on the development of teaching and learning in national publications.
