Headmaster’s Update
It’s been a truly remarkable final week of the summer term at TPS and we finished the term and school year with a host of celebratory events which have seen the children at their very best. Monday afternoon saw Mrs Kidson oversee the Junior Duke presentation, with an extraordinary number of children from Reception all the way up to Year 6 recognised for completing the programme, requiring them to learn new skills, such as CPR, knot tying, website building and learning new languages. The reflections completed by the children this year were particularly impressive. That same day, I know that Year 8 had a fabulous time at the O2, with the oldest pupils completing a guided climb of the huge dome – surely not for the faint hearted!
We held three special events to mark the children’s success this year, with the Pre-Prep and Prep Celebrations of Achievements taking place in the afternoons and Senior Prizegiving only last night. All three showed the incredible, diverse talents within the school, and pointed to just how wholeheartedly the children have embraced their school experience this year. It was especially pleasing to hear children nominated for their kindness and ability to show empathy and consideration for others. For the oldest boys and girls, the Senior Prizegiving, with our special guest Ms Munira Wilson MP, featured superb musical performances by Zayn, Sonyamae and Micah and two super speeches by Nicole and Toby, the outgoing Head Girl and Boy.
This final week has also seen the children ready themselves for the next chapter, at TPS or further afield. On ‘Move Up Morning’ on Wednesday there was a buzz of excitement as I shared news of the children’s new classes and a chance to meet new teachers. On Wednesday, our Year 6 and Year 8 leavers had a great time at Kempton with the rounders and cricket matches, completed in the afterglow of the men’s England football team victory! I can report that the boys convincingly won the cricket against their parents and the girls narrowly lost to their parents in the rounders, 13 to 13.5, in a very exciting match. Thank you to everyone who came along for the evening and especially to Miss Cassiano for yet another evening’s feast!
Today, we shed a tear, saying ‘goodbye’ to departing colleagues: Mrs Brown, Mrs Fox, Mrs Robertson, Miss Chesney, Miss Kent and Mr Sagar, all of whom have made wonderful contributions to the school over past years. Thank you – one and all! It remains for me to express my thanks to everyone for making this year such a successful and fulfilling one.

Chair of Governors Update
On behalf of the Governors, I’d like to wish you all a very enjoyable summer holiday with your family and friends. This term has, as usual, been unbelievably busy with so many events and activities! The children really are ready for their break.
We’ve enjoyed our three events this week to celebrate the achievements of the pupils, they’ve all done remarkably well and parents should be justifiably proud of them!
Last night at our Senior Prizegiving, we were delighted to welcome or local MP, Ms Munira Wilson, as our guest. She was very impressed with the children, and the excellent speeches given by our Head Boy and Head Girl, as well as the three musical performances that all we enjoyed. Ms Wilson has asked to return to visit the school on a normal school day and to sample the delicious food that she heard so many references about!!
I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at TPS who work so hard to make sure that the children have a great experience, and feel safe and secure at school. We are blessed to have such an amazing group of staff who really do deserve a well earned break. I’d also like to send my best wishes to those members of staff who are leaving TPS, I’m very thankful for their wonderful contribution to the school during their time here.
Last night we said farewell to those pupils who are leaving TPS for their destination schools. I sincerely hope that they have thoroughly enjoyed their time at TPS and feel well prepared for their next step.

Read to the Beat – Summer Reading Challenge 2026

Children are invited to take part in this year’s Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge through their local library. Once they have completed the challenge, they will receive a certificate and are encouraged to bring it into school in September so we can celebrate their achievement.
