Headmaster’s Update
As the penultimate week of the summer term draws to a close, we can all reflect on what has been an exceptionally warm few days. It’s necessitated a sensitive and creative response to keep everyone in good spirits, especially with many children and staff travelling far and wide this week. Thank you to the children, staff and parents as we adapted our routines to keep everyone safe and comfortable, in these soaring temperatures.
Despite the heat, it has also been an exciting week of adventure and enrichment. Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful trip to Nower Wood, while Pre-Prep and Year 3 were treated to a magical theatre production of ‘Dr Dolittle’ at school. Further afield, our Year 4 pupils enjoyed a fantastic residential at Marchants Hill, while Year 5 have embraced the challenges and opportunities at the stunning coastal location in Osmington Bay. Having accompanied the group, I can report Year 6 have had a wonderful time at Maison Claire Fontaine in France, experiencing new culture, language and activities in a lovely rural setting. Meanwhile, our Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts have been making unforgettable memories in Pembrokeshire through a wide range of outdoor pursuits, with surely the perfect weather.
Across every trip and activity, the children have demonstrated remarkable resilience, enthusiasm and energy. It has been a pleasure for the staff to see the TPS boys and girls testing their boundaries, growing in confidence and independence, and enjoying the special experience of sharing these adventures with friends. We are immensely proud of the way they have represented the school and look forward to hearing many wonderful stories.

Read to the Beat – Summer Reading Challenge 2026

Children are invited to take part in this year’s Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge through their local library. Once they have completed the challenge, they will receive a certificate and are encouraged to bring it into school in September so we can celebrate their achievement. Return your Library Books
As we approach the end of the school year, please could all children check at home for any library books that need to be returned. We would be especially grateful for the return of any overdue books so that they can be enjoyed by other pupils next year.
A special reminder for our Year 6 and Year 8 leavers: if you have any school library books at home, please return them before the end of term. Thank you for helping us keep our library shelves well stocked and ready for our readers in September.

As the summer holidays approach, we are delighted to welcome a fantastic range of holiday clubs to Twickenham Prep School. Open to both Twickenham Prep pupils and children from the wider community, our summer programme offers a variety of engaging activities designed to keep children active, entertained and inspired throughout the holiday period.
Whether your child enjoys outdoor adventure, technology and innovation, sport, or creative arts, there is something to suit every interest. All clubs are delivered by experienced providers and make full use of our excellent facilities and extensive grounds.
For working parents, holiday clubs can provide flexible, high-quality childcare in a safe and well-supervised environment, while also giving children opportunities to make new friends, develop new skills and create lasting summer memories.

TPS Art Club offers a creative and calming environment where children can explore a wide range of artistic techniques. Summer Holiday Touch Typing Course at TPS
