Music is a vehicle of personal expression and creativity, and it plays an important part in the development of children.
Experiencing the joy of performing and creating music in groups is at the core of our Music teaching ethos. Pupils have the opportunity to learn instruments in class, ranging from keyboards to djembe drums and ukuleles as well as having 1:1 lessons with our large team of visiting music teachers on instruments such as the saxophone.
Music promotes emotional wellbeing, offering an outlet for self-expression and creativity.

It encourages collaboration, teamwork, and discipline through group performances and practice. This is a subject that all our pupils feel happy and comfortable in, enjoying the extensive resources we have at TPS.

Drama
At the heart of TPS drama is our commitment to support children’s creative and communicative growth as well as to help them discovery their sense of individuality and inner confidence.
We believe in non-judgemental and inspiring rehearsal spaces where pupils can use their imagination to help develop their vocal, physical and storytelling skills through both improvisation and scripted activities.
Working individually, in small groups or with larger casts for production work, children are encouraged to find joy in both the collaborative process as well as a feeling of accomplishment in performing in front of an audience.
We also support pupils’ understanding and appreciation of technical aspects of theatre, including sound, lighting and digital media.
