  • School Librarian

An exciting opportunity for an inspirational candidate to lead our Learning Resource Centre (LRC), and contribute to the development of our learning culture.
Based in Hampton, Twickenham Preparatory School is a flourishing, well-resourced and friendly independent co-educational day school for pupils from 4-13 years.
Located in stunning grounds near the River Thames and Bushy Park with direct rail links into London, the School has a reputation for being nurturing and pastorally strong with high academic standards and a broad curriculum.
There are currently c.280 pupils at the school with two classes in each year group from Reception. Small class sizes (max 19) ensure that each pupil experiences individual attention and bespoke teaching. All of our girls leave at 11, mainly to independent day schools in the locality but most of our boys stay until 13, and sit Common Entrance for a wide variety of Independent Senior Schools. Numbers at the school are currently at a historical high with strong interest and waiting lists for entry.
Our well-resourced LRC and Pre-Prep Library offer our pupils extensive opportunities to develop their literacy and love of reading.
We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate with a passion for children’s literature. You will be responsible for the management, development and promotion of the LRC and the Pre-Prep Library within the School, ensuring that an effective service for resources, information, enjoyment and learning is provided to all pupils and staff.
With sole responsibility for weekly library lessons for all classes from Reception to Year 8; you will be able to demonstrate your ability to inspire literacy, reading for pleasure and independent learning in our pupils.
The position is term time only and offered on a part-time basis, (hours to be agreed).
With a generous School Fees Remission Scheme and a competitive TPS Pay Scale, this is a wonderful opportunity to join a Leading Preparatory School.
